Health and Safety - Home Ec

For the first few periods we have been looking at health and safety and hygiene. We have also learnt about bacteria, you can only leave out food for about 2 hours before the bacteria starts to grow. And also about cross contamination.

Health and safety is important in the classroom because there are a lot of hazards the could harm us. We need to keep ourselves and our food safe.

The routines we have put in place are just the basic things like washing hands, having hair up, aprons, wiping down the tables, etc.

Bacteria can't grow without a few things such as; Warmth, moisture, oxygen and food.
