Building Sport Specific Muscles - Science

In Football/ Soccer it is really important to have strong leg muscles. So I am going to design a training program that will work out some important leg muscles, the Quadriceps and Hamstring.


Muscles work in pairs to move your body parts, they do this by contracting and relaxing. Muscles are connected to your bones by tendons, they’re attached so well that when you contract a muscle your bone and tendon will move along with it.

I would suggest these workouts to strengthen the legs..
  • Squats.
  • Step ups
  • Lunges

When we use our muscles it causes them to strengthen. This training program focuses on squats, lunges and step ups. All of those focus on working out the muscles in the leg which will make them stronger for playing soccer.
